Am I alone??

My oldest starts kindergarten in September. To say I have mixed emotions is a understatement. I love his zest for learning. I want him to grow. I want him to make all kinds of friends. But I have to say, the thought of me not being with him every minute is breaking my heart. I have always had homeschooling in the back of my mind. But I know me, I know it isn't a possibility. I believe now that I have ADHD and I know I am not structured enough to do it. Beside the fact that my husband is 100% against it.

So many parents I talk to say they can't wait for their kids to start school. Am I too attached? Will this get better, easier?

I will miss our days at the beach, mornings in the woods. I will miss this

  1. Thanks for stopping by my blog today. :) I will make sure to post pics of my new cream cabinets when they are finished.
My youngest is starting kindergarten in September. I remember when my first one started going to school. I counted the minutes until he arrived home. (I still do) I wish time could stand still and we could have them be little forever. I so miss the days of just spending time together. . . going to the park, reading books on the couch, playing in the yard . . . this summer, I am going to try to soak up my kids all I can.
I'm your newest follower and I look forward to reading more of your posts. :)

  2. I know the feeling... I sent one off to Kindergarten last year and this year another one goes... I don't think you're ever really "ready", but it does get easier.

Thanks for linking up on the Super STALKER Sunday again! I don't see anywhere new to stalk you, but wanted to let you know I dropped by! ; )

  3. I know a little of what you're saying. My oldest just turned 5 this May and she will be off to Kindergarten in September too. But she is in her 2nd year of preschool so I think I had a little head start. I think she'll only be gone for a half day so I think I'll be okay. It's just a little crazy to think that 5 years have went by and my baby is going to kindergarten. I remember my first day of kindergarten! I even have a 3 yr old who just start preschool too!

I'm a new follower from Super Stalker Sunday. I have a blog hop on my blog too if you'd like to link up. :)

  4. Hi Christie! Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier this week.

Its been at least 3 years since the last of my 3 boys went to Kindergarten, but I appreciate your feelings of missing him and all that you're used to doing with him. You're not alone! I've been through that just like many other moms, but just remember the gift you're giving him of independence, growth, self awareness, and the ability to miss you enough for him to appreciate his mommy and all you do for him even more!

Hold on to that, and it will get easier and better!

  5. Hi Christie,
That photo you posted is precious, and I can understand your feelings. Others have said it will get better, and it will!
My children are adults now, but when the youngest started school, I made it a point to volunteer in their classrooms. The teachers love volunteers! Perhaps you will find it will work for you, also...
